PhD: 2009-12
Melina den Haan started her PhD training in 2009, which was funded by the Smartmix program. She focused on the therapeutic potential of human mesenchymal stem cells in various cardiac diseases. Late 2012 she finished her studies and moved from the bench to the bedside to start her clinical cardiology training.
